Christ learned obedience through His sufferings

CHRIST LEARNED OBEDIENCE THROUGH HIS SUFFERINGS

You must discipline, DENY  or suffer your flesh to learn obedience to God.

FAITH INSTRUCTION:

You must subject yourself to discipline if you want to learn obedience or acquire the power to obey God easily. It is better to suffer the pain of discipline which leads to inner peace, joy and happiness, than to gratify the desires of the sinful flesh and suffer unnecessary heart breaking pain and loss.

Christ learnt or acquired the power to obey His heavenly Father by disciplining or suffering his flesh to comply with the word of God. He tamed His flesh in the wilderness for 40 days and nights and in the garden of Gethsemane with loud cries and tears. Heb 5:7

He disciplined His flesh through prayer, fasting and meditating on the word of God day and night and since he never suffered the pain or consequences of personal sin, it then follows he learnt obedience through the sufferings of personal discipline and the various tests and trials that came His way.

“During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.” Hebrews 5:7

So let us live a disciplined life and train or even force ourselves, (if that is what it takes) to meditate on the word of God day and night; praying and fasting regularly as these activities will empower us to conquer self, sin and Satan and handle trials, tests and challenges that will inevitably come our way.

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-1

May the Lord empower us through discipline to live a happy, healthy, holy and victorious life in Jesus name. Amen
