YOU MUST CARRY YOUR CROSS
Bible passage for Today:
Matthew 20:17–19
“Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them,
‘Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed… condemn Him to death… deliver Him… to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.’”
Verse of the Day:
Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’”
Jesus did not stumble into the cross; He walked toward it. He chose obedience over comfort, courage over fear, and purpose over self-preservation. The One who predicted His suffering also predicted His resurrection.
In real life, carrying your cross may look like choosing integrity when compromise is easier, forgiving when bitterness feels justified, or standing for Christ in an environment where it costs you something. A student refusing to cheat, a believer rejecting an immoral deal, a woman praying through betrayal, a man confessing weakness and seeking help; these are modern “crosses.”
The cross is not the end; it is the doorway. Jesus carried His to fulfill destiny; you carry yours to walk into victory. If He faced His Jerusalem with courage, you can face your own challenges knowing resurrection is always on the other side.
